RE: Traveling Together into Mexico!

What an offer, ROCMOC ! We cannot retire until next Febuary, or we'd be right with you! We will be watching this time next year to try and catch your invitation. Enjoy. Bob and Linda :):)

RE: They want to Buy my campsite!?!?

Or... go where week-enders dont, for what ever reason. We are going to the San Juan Islands this weekend after I found out that the usually over-flowing CG/resorts in the islands are under booked. The operators think it is because of the (fuel costs) higher cost of a ferry ride. :):)

RE: Camper fire, what happened here?

Not sure about diesel, but I have, often, thrown a lit lucifer into a bucket of gasoline and the gasoline put out the match without igniting. "Amen" :):)

RE: Any interest in workamping in Bar Harbor, Maine?

We are not full time yet, but Maine is definately on our "to do" list in the next year or 2. We'll keep track of your requirement for the future. Twenty hours is about the average we read about, with full hookups. You are worried about the workamper electric usage? Just remember, you get what you pay for. If you want to go real cheap, might as well forget the hookups and hire illegals. :) :)

RE: Volunteer help needed

We are not yet full-timing, but do plan to volunteer/workKamp when we start this time next year. We will not provide 32 hours per week each... no matter how much we may like the work. Just wont do it. If I'm gonna be required to give 32 hours per week when I am RETIRED, I may as well do that for my present boss, who is crying-the-blues that I'm leaving next year. After reading some of this, maybe I'll stay after all and work out a deal where we can still get to the sun in winter. JM2C :):)

RE: Escapees RV Club

We pay attention to any blog that is frequented by RV'ers either full-timers or wanna-bees-like-us. We are going full-time next year. We see in all sites the cross section of society... some of thats good and some of that's not-so-good in that ego's too often get in the way of meaningful dialog. Escapees are elitist? Not any more so than we see here.... or anywhere. Some children just never seem to grow up in the head. Yes, we have opinions and we share them often, but we also TRY to see when it is best-in-the-situation to just clam up. There was a reason your momma kept telling you to shut up. Get on with the important things in life. If an op isnt motivated to check it out for themselves, then so what? O.K.... I'm done. :)

RE: A modest proposal

Amen about the clowns in congress. Looking to the govt to solve our problems is sorta like looking to a waiter to solve a diseased heart problem. Spending our $ because "they" can isnt solving problems. jm2c Bob :)

RE: workamping near Portland, OR

Hi Gypsy, On the Vancouver side you will not have to pay income tax. There are a number of RV parks to check with, but state and county parks are limited in number. You might check with the fair grounds... should be a good bet. Also, Giford-Pinchot NF has a goodly number of seasonal camp grounds. There are , I think, 3 fish hatcheries close by for you to check. And Bonneville Power has a couple not too far away. Hope this helps... :)
